Welcome to the Vadas Lab website at the University of Connecticut's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. 

We work on understanding how a variety of inorganic and organic contaminants transform and interact at the intersection of natural ecosystems and built environments.  We often focus on biological interactions such as contaminant uptake or how the physical-chemical processes control biological processes. We work at the beaker, microcosm, and field scale in streams, wetlands, stormwater and wastewater treatment systems and greenhouses.
